Posted by The Plus Liga is underway, and as I was noting to a friend yesterday, I have actually watched more volleyball matches than ever before. That actually makes some sense given that when I am preparing for particular opponents I very rarely watch a whole match. I will watch thousands of individual actions and combinations of actions but will rarely watch a match normally from start to finish. I don’t know how long it will last, but so far I have watched and studied every match of the season. I have some seen some great stuff and some not so great stuff, some stuff that made me laugh and even some stuff that made me angry, because at the end of the day, I really hate bad volleyball even if it has nothing to do with me. Some of the best volleyball so far has been played by Gdansk, Katowice and as always Kędzierzyn. I won’t dwell on the bad stuff…
Everyone knows the normal statistics Best Scorer, Most Aces and all that stuff. But those things aren’t very interesting to me. Here are some of the stuff that is interesting to me. Most teams have only played two matches, so this doesn’t say much, but still… As always the stats are generated by the Science Untangled suite of apps, specifically the reporting app.
