Coaching is a difficult task.  To manage the improvement of up to fifteen individual players, along with the improvement of the team, results and the myriad of other tasks that a coach is responsible for could be no other way.

As well as being difficult, progress is never linear.  Improvements are followed by regressions.  Wins are followed by losses.  Epiphanies are followed by meltdowns.  The coach can never get too far ahead of themself.

Through it all, the coach can never lose sight of the big picture, can never be pulled away from their path, must be the living embodiment of patience.  In fact patience may be the single most important of all the qualities required of the coach.

Whatever you do, be patient.
