After I started last week, I am kind of obligated to keep going with this thread. At least it gives me something to do at the airport each Monday. Here are the Best Players in VNL after three rounds. There is some movement in the lists, partly as coaches rotate their players in and out of the team each week, leaving some good performers not having enough attempts to ‘qualify’ for the lists. Also as the sample sizes are pretty small, a really good or bad weekend for a player can lead to a large change in his overall position. But you know all that stuff already. Forgive the fairly awful formatting. I am putting this together in actual airports.
One interesting, to me, note is that the sideout percentage is lower for float serves than it is for jump serves. This is the first time I can remember that this has happened.
Ben Raymond has done up a basic tool that lets you look at all players and sort your own lists. It doesn’t have the same detail as the one I am using, but it might be fun. You can find it here.

Hi mark. Can you explain what the “BP% OPP POSITIVE RECEPTION” (blocking) means?
LikeLike
BP% OPP POSITIVE RECEPTION = percentage of points won on serve, while that middle blocker is front row, and the opposition made a perfect or positive pass (i.e. likely to have the opportunity to run a middle attack)
